Design & Build

Samsung Galaxy A35 5G Review

The Galaxy A35 5G stands out from its predecessor, the Galaxy A34 5G, by featuring a glass back instead of a plastic panel, giving the device a more premium look and feel. However, the glossy finish can attract fingerprint smudges, so a case is recommended.

galaxy a35 5g review design

The comfort of holding the Galaxy A35 5G is outstanding. Its design allows for easy one-handed use, and the slightly softer edges provide a better grip. Although the phone is a bit heavier at 209g compared to the Galaxy A34 5G’s 199g, the plastic frame does not detract from its overall quality. A new bump on the right side of the phone houses the volume rockers and power buttons, making them easy to locate by touch.

Display

Moving on to the display! The Galaxy A35 5G features a 6.6-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED screen with excellent quality, offering sharp and vibrant colors. The thick bezels around the screen are evenly balanced, so they don’t seem out of place.

The phone’s 120Hz refresh rate ensures fast and smooth navigation, and its peak brightness of 1000 nits makes it easy to use the device outdoors. The display is also protected by Gorilla Glass Victus+, a major upgrade from previous models’ Gorilla Glass 5. As usual, Samsung delivers a stunning display with the Galaxy A35 5G.

Camera

In terms of photography, the Galaxy A35 5G has a triple camera setup with a 50MP main camera, 8MP ultrawide lens, and 5MP macro lens.

The quality of the 50MP main camera is very good, producing clear images with no excessive sharpening. The photos have vivid colors and the AI processing is efficient. The camera avoids oversaturation, making the photos look more natural.

Under the hood, the Galaxy A35 5G is powered by a 5nm Exynos 1380 chip, paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. While many mid-range phones now offer 8GB of RAM, the Galaxy A35 5G includes a RAM Plus feature that allows you to expand the RAM by an additional 6GB if needed.

For gaming, the Galaxy A35 5G performs well, handling most games smoothly and without any significant issues! Samsung Galaxy A35 5G Review

The Galaxy A35 5G comes with a large 5000mAh battery and supports 25W wired charging. There haven’t been changes in the charging support, it remains at 25W wired charging, and wireless charging isn’t available. In our video loop test, the Galaxy A35 5G lasted for around 11 hours and 21 minutes. Samsung Galaxy A35 5G Review

Using a 30W power brick, we charged the 5000mAh battery from 0 to 100% in about 1 hour and 30 minutes. While Samsung lags behind competitors in terms of fast charging speeds at this price point, the battery life is still impressive and reliable.

While it may not feature the highest megapixel count, the camera quality it delivers is exceptional. Additionally, the phone offers decent gaming performance, an excellent display, and long battery life. The latest move by YouTube targets ad-blocking apps on third-party platforms that breach the service’s rules. These apps typically allow users to watch YouTube videos without any advertisements, which is against YouTube’s policy. Although the announcement specifically mentions “ad-blocking apps,” other third-party apps that come with built-in ad-blocking features might also be affected.

If you try to use YouTube through such ad blockers, you’ll likely see an error message that reads “The following content is not available on this app.” This change will impact anyone using these ad-blocking methods. YouTube blocks ad blockers

YouTube justifies its stance by stating that its terms of service forbid third-party apps from disabling ads. Ads play a crucial role in supporting content creators, as they provide financial rewards for their work. Ads also keep YouTube’s streaming service free for billions of viewers worldwide.

The platform encourages users who prefer an ad-free experience to consider subscribing to YouTube Premium. With a paid subscription, you can enjoy videos without ads and also access other benefits like offline downloads and background play.

YouTube Premium offers different subscription plans to suit various needs.

Here’s a breakdown:

  • Individual Plan: For ₱159.00 per month, you can enjoy an ad-free experience. Plus, the first month is free.
  • Family Plan: Priced at ₱239.00 per month, you can include up to 5 family members (ages 13+) in your household. The first month is also free.
  • Student Plan: Students can subscribe for ₱95.00 per month and also enjoy a free month. Eligibility verification is required annually.

These changes reflect YouTube’s commitment to supporting its creators and ensuring fair compensation for their efforts. While some viewers may find ads disruptive, others may appreciate the added value that content creators bring to the platform.

As YouTube continues to evolve and adapt to changing user behavior, it’s important to consider how these policies impact the overall viewing experience. What do you think about YouTube blocks ad blockers? Is it a fair move to protect creators, or does it limit user choice? Let us know your thoughts!
