Couchbase Announces New Features to Accelerate AI-Powered Adaptive Applications for Customers | Metro Manila, Philippines — Couchbase, Inc. (NASDAQ: BASE), the cloud database platform company, recently introduced vector search as a new feature in Couchbase Capella Database-as-a-Service (DBaaS) and Couchbase Server to help businesses bring to market a new class of AI-powered adaptive applications that engage users in a hyper-personalized and contextualized way. Vector Search and the Rise of Adaptive Applications

Businesses are racing to build hyper-personalized, high-performing and adaptive applications powered by generative AI that deliver exceptional experiences to their end users. Common use cases include chatbots, recommendation systems and semantic search. For example, suppose a customer wants to purchase shoes that are complementary to a particular outfit. In that case, they can narrow their online search for products by uploading a photo of the outfit to a mobile application, along with the brand name, customer rating, price range and availability at a specific geographical area. This interaction with an adaptive application involves a hybrid search including vectors, text, numerical ranges, operational inventory query and geospatial matching.

As more organizations build intelligence into applications that converse with large language models (LLMs), semantic search capabilities powered by vector search — and augmented by retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) — are critical to taming hallucinations and improving response accuracy. While vector-only databases aim to solve the challenges of processing and storing data for LLMs, having multiple standalone solutions adds complexity to the enterprise IT stack and slows application performance. Pay Low, Pay Light and Savings

Drive into new beginnings with a reliable partner – the Vios. The 1.3 XE CVT variant is available for a downpayment of PHP 116,100 under the Pay Low option. This option offers customers downpayments as low as 15 percent with free insurance for the first year, free LTO registration for three years and no chattel mortgage at 60 months to pay via cash out.

The same variant is available for a monthly payment of PHP 8,776 under the Pay Light option, which offers customers low monthly plans with 50 percent downpayment at 60 months to pay.

Make new memories with loved ones this year with the Innova. The 2.8 XE Dsl AT variant is available for a downpayment of PHP 206,250 under the Pay Low option or a monthly payment of PHP 15,506 under the Pay Light option.

Corolla Cross fans are also in for a treat – the 1.8 G CVT is available for a downpayment of PHP 196,800 under the Pay Low option or a monthly payment of PHP 13,754 under the Pay Light option.

Customers who opt to pay in cash also get big discounts! Get up to PHP 180,000 in cash savings for the Fortuner or up to PHP 120,000 for the Hilux, depending on the variant. Other participating models for cash savings include the Vios, Wigo, Corolla Altis, Avanza, Veloz, Rush, Raize, Innova, Lite Ace, and Corolla Cross.

Free Periodic Maintenance Service

Whether traveling to work or for leisure, it’s always important to make sure that your vehicle is in tip-top condition! Bringing in your vehicle for periodic maintenance service (PMS) is one way to ensure that every ride is a safe ride.

All brand-new Corolla Altis, Raize, Veloz, Rush, and select variants of the Vios, Avanza, Innova, Fortuner and Hilux purchased during the promo period are entitled to a free PMS. The free PMS is valid up to the 20,000 KM check-up. Customers may avail of the free PMS within a 24-month period from the release date of the vehicle.

All variants of the Lite Ace sold and released during the promo month is also qualified for a fixed PMS package. Customers will only need to pay PHP 1,999 per PMS until the 40,000 KM check-up.

Trade-in Rebates, Free Insurance

The fun continues with trade-in rebates! Get a PHP 25,000 rebate when you trade-in your Vios for a brand-new Wigo, Innova, or Zenix (Q HEV variant not included) or PHP 15,000 when you upgrade your Innova to a Fortuner or Hilux.

There’s also a PHP 10,000 rebate for those who trade-in their Wigo for a Rush, Raize, Avanza, or Veloz.

The trade-in rebate can be used as cash discount for purchasing the new vehicle during the promo period. It can also be used to buy Toyota Genuine Accessories.

All brand-new Wigo, Hilux, Veloz, Fortuner, and select variants of the Vios, Corolla Altis, Innova, Avanza, and Rush purchased during the promo period also get a free comprehensive one-year insurance provided by Toyota Insure given that the unit is purchased from any authorized Toyota dealership nationwide.

The free one-year insurance covers 24/7 personal accident, passenger auto personal accident, three-year CPTL, own damage (OD), loss/theft, excess bodily injury (EBI), property damage (PD), acts of nature (AON), and includes emergency roadside assistance.

All brand-new Vios G, E, and XLE units bought from any authorized Toyota dealership nationwide also enjoy a warranty coverage of five years or 150,000 KM, whichever comes first.

Feedzig | DepEd thanks City of Taguig and the City of Makati for orderly transition of the 14 schools | PASIG CITY, 15 January 2024 — The Department of Education (DepEd) is grateful for the cooperation and commitment of the City Government of Taguig and Makati towards an orderly transition of the schools affected by the by the the Supreme Court’s Decision in the case entitled, Municipality of Makati vs. Municipality of Taguig (G.R. No. 235316).

Likewise, DepEd also recognizes Regional Director Gilbert Sadsad and all of the members of the Transition committee for their perseverance and diligence throughout the entire process.

With the common goal of delivering quality education, Vice President and Secretary of Education Sara Z. Duterte, Taguig Mayor Lani Cayetano, and Makati Mayor Abby Binay signed a Memorandum of Agreement for the full transition of the public schools’ operations from Makati to Taguig beginning January 01, 2024.

In the said agreement, the Schools Division of Taguig-Pateros will now manage and operate the fourteen (14) schools.

While there are still specific issues and appeals that shall be left to the final determination of the proper authorities, the transition has been finally  concluded through the collective resolve of the parties in ensuring the unhampered delivery of basic education services.
